That's very little time left for my decision-makings.
One of the concerns, which has been prompted by many of you is that
What happens to Toffee after my OSIP?
You can be rest assured that he will not be abandoned.
However, I am open to any suggestions.
I just called up Indian Airlines to enquiry about transporting Toffee back to Singapore. It seems like it's not much of a problem. I just have to make a trip to the airport with Toffee, all the documentations certified by a vet of vaccinations etc. 3 days before my departure and settle it with the cabin commander.
On top of that, a payment of S$34.50/per kg has to be made according to the weight of the puppy. Toffee is really light now, but it'll definitely grow in a few weeks' time. Heeheee.
I'm 99.9% certain that I can't bring Toffee back to my own house. My mother would never agree to it and I can't afford enough time and dedication towards it. Not that I'm being cruel but I have to be realistic...as much as I am being mesmerized by Toffee!
There are two possible options now.
#1 Give him away to someone here
#2 Bring him back to Singapore and he shall make its home with a new owner who is willingly to bear all the costs incurred for its flight transportation, vaccinations etc.
If you're certain that you can be the best candidate for any of the options above, kindly think twice, think thrice before approaching me for any sort of confirmation.
Meanwhile, let's observe a minute of silence and pray for Toffee! Haha.
Pray especially that he'll no longer pee on my bed! He just did 4 times yesterday!

Note that it differs from working at the Sesame studio.
Lunch is officially at 2pm. That makes me a hungry girl most of the time. Haha.

Don't know why...I am feeling feverish today. Anyway, as anticipated earlier last Friday, I did enjoy another interesting weekend though it wasn't all good. At some point, I think it's a total waste of time being so lost in a foreign land and having to bargain so much just to ride on an auto rickshaw. I think I'm just spoilt for choices, conveniences, security, peace and many things that can be easily taken for granted back at home made comfortable on a small island.I didn't bother to go for jogging the past week except on Saturday, the faithful day where we adopted Toffee. Since then, it has kept us very busy...barking so much just to gain our immediate attention regardless of day or night...depriving me of my beauty sleep. Haha. It urinated on my bed for at least 4 times! For only 3 days, we now share a love-hate relationship.
On the same day, we had a very cheesy-tomato(ish) brunch prepared by ourselves. Tasty looking, isn't it? Cheese Omelettes & Tomato Cheese Pastas served with tomatoes.
In the evening, we went ahead to replenish our grocery, which ended up as another one of my shopping spree, as you may have expected. Hehe. I bought 3 skirts, a top and I can't remember what else. We came across this pretty interesting 'Yo!China' restaurant where we settled for dinner. They served yummy food!
Then came Sunday.
We didn't visit Dawa's house in the end. Traveled all the way to CP just to have money changed and we encountered many people who questioned our nationality. At least 5 of them asked if I was a Japanese, 2 of them who thought that I am from Korea and finally a boy who was convinced that I am from Nepal. It is even more interesting to note their responses after we mentioned that we're Singaporeans.
Response #1: Oh Singapore! That's a nice place.
Response #2: Which region of Singapore?
Response #3: I've friends in Singapore!
Response #4: I've been there a lot of times. I even worked at Serangoon Plaza before. You know, you know?
Response #5: Singapore is divided into 2 parts...which part are you from?
The list goes on. It's funny how they made it sound like the different races in Singapore live in different areas...the most happening place to be in - Serangoon Road, Little India...and since when Singapore is divided into 2 parts? Lol.

I just realised that I can receive free international incoming calls with the house line. So, I invite you to call me at the following number: 0199111 29210328 anytime after 8pm sgp time. Haha, of course, you'll have to pay. According to my mum, the charges are S$0.65 (weekdays), S$0.49 (weekends) using the normal phone line.Anyway, we adopted a puppy today! I don't know what's the exact breed and I'm not certain of its gender. Haha. Meanwhile, it is pee-ing and shit-ing everywhere in the house. It is in love with IZ's jacket! Haha. It's so adorable. I think I'm gonna miss it so much since I doubt we can keep it for long or even bring it back to Singapore. Ian, our housemate, is away this weekend and I'm not sure if he will agree to having a dog in the apartment. I hope he doesn't freak out when he returns to the apartment tmr :(

I wonder what you guys have been up to lately. I miss Singapore! Haha. It's not a sudden outburst of patriotism; I really meant it. Oh, there're actually people who aren't aware that Singapore is merely a small dot on the map. I just educated someone in the office about the urban city. He was shocked to hear that traveling from one end of Singapore to the other only takes less than 2 hours, etc.
Anyway, I really enjoy working with the 3 Sesame Live Action producers namely Dawa, Rajr & Saurabh. They're simply fun loving. I was watching some of the semi-final cuts in the postproduction studio this morning when Producer Dawa started a random conversation.
Dawa: Do you've a boyfriend?
Me: *shakes head* Why?
Dawa: Hey Saurabh, are there boys in your village?
Saurabh: Of course.
Dawa: Please take Philo there.
Me: ...
(At work) Just one more script and I think I'm done for the day.
Shalalalaaa...it's the weekends again! I'm sure it's gonna be exciting though we don't have any fixed plans as yet. As for now, Dawa just invited us over to her house this Sunday and she said she'd be preparing some tasty dishes. That's nice of her. (:
P.S: We're under some kinda pressure here cos the seniors left such a good impression last year and so many people had been asking us about them. We don't know Roger, Adi and Julia personally so we've really no idea how they're doing right now. Do any of you have their msn address or something?

At work, I'm doing alot of research, conceptualizing and scripting these days.
It will then be sent to the Sesame Live Action producer --> Sesame India excutive producer --> Sesame Street New York producers for approval before the actual execution.
I don't know why I am in such high spirits today, it just feels as if it's the weekends!
I brought 2 packets of my original Pocky strawberry sticks to work today and offered them to Producer Rajr since he was siting beside me. He's funny guy. He actually convinced Producer Saurabh to demand the original Pocky strawberry sticks from me.
Me: These are actually imported from Japan.
Rajr & Saurabh: Oh, you're from Japan?
Me:...No, you can find them in Singapore.
P.S: Thanks Edwin, for your generous supply of the original Pocky strawberry sticks! I've only got one packet left. Haha. I'm not that crazy to finish it all on the plane.

With no relevance to the above, I am now known as a 'mosquito slayer', termed by IZ.
I show no mercy to any mosquitos surrounding me....clapping to death about 20 mosquitos with my bare hands thus far. Mosquito sprays, coils, repellents supported by Mortein, Baygon blah blah blah...you name it, I have it. It's not just an obsession. It's the result of having so many mosquito bites all over my body and there are unbelievably a whole lot of mosquitos camping outside our apartment, at least 30 of them flying all around, all day long. How can I not be traumatized! :(

Went to church with IZ and Nancy in the morning

Headed down to Nancy's house right after that and stayed for lunch
before we went to catch 'Brokeback Mountain' in the cinema.

This weekend has been quite unusual cos we returned home straight after work yesterday and stayed home till now apart from the morning jog. For once, I'm not shopping. Haha. Nonetheless, I had an enjoyable time of tranquility.
Fresh flowers of a different colour never fail to bloom each week we visit the park.
Brunch: cereals with milk, mashed potatoes and tuna with cheese sandwiches.
Bothered to iron all my clothes today.
Spent another refreshing QT and much more.

Anyway, the video editor surprised me yesterday when he asked the following question:
"Are you a native Singaporean or are you from Hong Kong?"
It took me quite awhile before I replied.
'Native' just sounded queer to me and I'm definitely far from being able to speak Cantonese.
There was another embarrassing moment.
The producer was trying to explain a video about some carnival to me.
Producer Rajr: How do you say 'Fun Fair' in your language?
Me: You meant English? Like 'Carnival'?
Producer Rajr: No...you speak mandarin right? How do you say 'carnival' in Mandarin?
Me: Errr...let me think...
Producer Rajr: Take your time
And after such a long time, I still couldn't think of the answer.
Me: Sorry. I really don't know!
So, tell me people, what's 'carnival' in mandarin?
By the way, working at the office is so much more enjoyable than being in the Sesame studio! Of course, there are pros and cons.

So, as you can see, we are happy being at the office. IZ is currently working with the animation department whereas I am with the Sesame Live Action producers and postproduction team. After learning so much about Sesame Street, I'm so inspired to start Sesame Singapore. It's really a great educational show for kids. I applaud the founder of Sesame Workshop, New York and his/her efforts in the many countries.
I'm gonna work very hard this weekend. There's so much left to do especially for MarCom. As for now, we're gonna treat ourselves to a nice dinner at a really fine restaurant nearby. Then, I'll return home and work my butt off.
Oh. About the party on Holi wed, it was incredible! But I'm lazy to blog about the details. I'll be uploading new photos soon!
P.S: My explosive phone bills cost about S$4 per outgoing call, S$1.30 per incoming call (per minute) and S$1 per outgoing sms. IZ just called home to check and realized that his phone bills have amounted to S$800! Madness. Thank goodness we discovered a calling booth nearby that only cost us S$0.45 per min. Obviously, we're not gonna call or sms with my hp anymore! And also don't call me, just sms alright?

It's Holi-Holiday today. Things didn't go according to our plans. We gave the 1st party a miss and stayed home till now. The company supervisor actually called us last night and encouraged us to stay home till evening for fear that we may be traumatised by any 'colours' attack. Haha. They will be held responsible if anything happens to us. We just follow suit. Not that we're being obedient, we realised that drugs or some sorta will be served at the floor manager's party, so we didn't wanna take the risk to be involved in such indulgences. They called us earlier to rush down but we had to reject them no matter how fun it seems. Nonetheless, it was a rest day for us. We slept till 11am+ and I got to spend a well deserved longer QT. It was really noisy this morning with the ongoing celebrations. Though I really wanted to capture this festival on the video cam, the desire was overwhelmed by my tiredness and menstrual cramps.
I'm at the internet cafe right now and we'll be out in another hour's time. The supervisor had arranged for the company's driver to pick us up at 8pm and send us to the party. It seems like quite a grand event and I don't have the appropriate attire.
Anyway, I was wrong about the hot weather here. It's rather cold & windy most of the time and my jackets fail to keep me warm. Shivers.
I just remember that we don't have to work at the Sesame set from tmr onwards. Yay! That means we can wake up later, go jogging and only have to be at the office by 11am. (:

As I've mentioned in one of my earlier posts on the research I had done on India, it's the Holi festival tomorrow and the CEO & President of Miditech had just invited us to their party...how cool is that? I'm hyped up cos it's my 1st ever experience of an Indian festival and party!
Holi is perhaps one of the most boisterous of Hindu festivals. There is a splash of colours all over the place. People throw coloured water or powder on each other, whether friends or strangers. The festival is celebrated in jubilation of the victory of the good over the evil.
I can't wait for every weekends!
Nancy will probably take me to her church this Sunday (I MISS CHURCH SO BADLY!) and the other fellow interns are gonna take us out for clubbing! Can you imagine the clubbing scene here?! I think it'll be pretty hilarious or maybe I'm just thinking too much. Wahaha. Just ignore me. IZ thinks I'm weird cos I refused to let me him stock up snacks in my room. It's way too tempting! I just had another packet of Lays last night. They've some really interesting flavours here and I just can't resist them! NO MORE LAYS FOR ME FOR NOW.

A fresh greeting from India!
We're at the Sesame Street set now and I'm slacking while everyone else is having breakfast. We didn't know they serve breakfast here! We woke up so early in the morning these 2 days just to prepare our own breakfast. Haha. Oh wells. I'll upload some photos from IZ's camera soon alright. I can't seem to connect my camera to my ibook.
This is another long post from yours truly. I think I enjoy sharing my experiences here. Haha. Anyway, it has been more than a week since I arrived at this highly polluted city. Hehz. I think it's quite mean of me to refer India in such a manner but I'm just stating the fact. I've to constantly clean my stuffs...it's just incredibly dusty here...you wouldn't imagine how dirty my comb will be when I run it through my hair...if I were to be start a business here, I would sell vacuum cleaners! I seriously wish I have a vacuum cleaner here with me right now to suck up the dirt in the house. The maids come to clean the house everyday but it's still in quite a horrible state though their labour is greatly appreciated. Oh well, I'm not complaining, just ranting. So don't take the above too seriously. Heez.
By the way, the guy from England who is also working for my company moved into the apartment last Sunday. He was rather shock to see us...think the company didn't inform him that he'd have to share an apartment with us. We're nice people, so I don't see why he should mind. Lol. He's quite an old man, married with two grown up children and we were sorry to learn that his wife had passed away last year...we were just chatting with him and trying to make him feel at home. We discovered that he is actually a freelance director who has been involved in many productions all over the world. Miditech, the company I'm having my internship with right now, hired him through a London website.
He'll be spending the next 3 months here and we're praying that we can get along well with him under the same roof. He's a really fussy person, which really is a blessing in disguise! He was so unpleased with the apartment and demanded to move to a hotel or some sort...that's when the company advised him to stay on and compromise by improving the living conditions of this apartment. For IZ and myself, we really didn't mind much since we didn't come with high expectations. So to meet his demands, the company is gonna do a mini renovation where the walls will be repainted, toilets and kitchen to be scrubbed clean, get us an extra new set of towels, pillows, blankets, floor mats etc. Of course, that's good news for us.
I'm still speaking English. We were advised by one of the Sesame Street India producer that we should pick up Hindi faster so we can communicate better with the people here. So I did put in a little effort by getting the sound guy who sat behind me in the control room to teach me some basic words. IZ also has this little book given by Ashraf, which has the basic Hindi words and sentences...it came in handy. Anyway, as we're in New Delhi, which is the northern part of India, so people here speaks Hindi, instead of Tamil. That also implies that there is a common misconception when we try to relate Indian Singaporeans to the Indians here. The culture varies in different parts of India. I learnt a little more about it from the sound guy today. He's a freelance sound designer and has a lot of experiences...it's nice talking to him...he was sharing about the media industry of India. Bollywood is actually based in Bombay so most films are produced over there and in Southern India whereas New Delhi produces more serious productions such as news broadcasting and documentaries.
I'll not mention much about my work today except that it has been rather boring yesterday. We were placed in the control room for the entire day. We were eager to learn at first and observed from the experts but after a few hours, we've already grasp hold of it and there was nothing much left for us to do. I shall be wiser the next day and bring along my ibook. Anyway, did I mention that I actually have to be at the office by 7.30am and work may end as late as 9pm+ from this week onwards? It won't be as easy as you imagine, unlike in Singapore, where it's more convenient and safe. It also meant that we can't go jogging anymore, unless we wake up like 4am+ to do so.
Work aside; our 1st weekend over here was splendid! After work on Friday, we went down to Indian Market to do some grocery shopping. RJ, the lady who is basically in charge of our internship over here had promised to take us to a supermaket a few days back. It turned out that Indian Market is really a market...not a supermarket is in sight. We were rather disappointed. Don't think you can comprehend and I'm lazy to explain. Anyway, we bought vegetables, fruits and more food to stock up at home. After that, after having dinner at home, we stayed out till quite late for the 1st time at the coffee cyber cafe. In the end, we had to trouble the security guard to open the main gate for us. It's usually locked by 10.30pm. Not to worry, there's actually another main gate to our private estate so we'll never be locked out. Most importantly, we won't hang out till so late in future. Think it's always good to play safe unless I had bought more life insurance. Nah, jk.
On Saturday, after jogging, we explored our neighbourhood further and discovered nice eateries, places where we can play pool etc. Then, we had a spring-cleaning session once we returned home. Now that our cupboards are more decent, I can securely hang up my clothes etc. We really weren't keen on cleaning the entire apartment so we left for shopping in the late afternoon. We made a trip down on our own to GK1 Market, recommended by our landlord. Our main intention was to get a bigger saucepan so we can start making decent meals at home. You see, we stay at GK2, so we tot GK1 is nearby but it's no...to our surprise, GK1 market is not what we expected it to be - a market. It's more like Bugis! We were so underdressed...we though it was just another filthy market like the Indian market we had visited earlier. We were just happy that we could finally do some decent shopping and feel closer to home at the sight of Mcdonalds. Haha. That's not the point. It's just that we finally see more than just mama shops. I managed to buy a pair long pants so that I can wear it to sleep. It gets really cold in the night with just the fan...I never use the air conditioner in my bedroom except once. And I think we're quite funny...it's like we were delighted when we finally discover a real supermarket like ntuc, cold storage that sort! We bought quite a lot of stuff like frozen fish fillets, chicken cutlets, fruit juice, milk etc. which you can't usually find in the mama shops. Even if you did, it's covered with a layer of dust and not chilled in a refrigerator...I don't know about you, but I find milk, fruit juices etc left in the open rather disgusting. Anyhow, we've learnt to accept it.
Sunday was an eventful day as well. Nancy, the lady who picked up from the airport when we arrived became like our best friend in the office. She's 2 years older than us, a really cool and nice person. (Nancy, if you're reading this right now...please note that we love you! You can expect more chocolate treats from us! All thanks to your hospitality from the very 1st day we arrived here. You're such a sweetheart!) Since Nancy was taking us out, we invited her over for lunch. This is also the 1st time we tried to prepare a decent meal - pasta and chicken cutlets...it was quite delicious and amazing that we can actually prepare such a meal with our limited resources as simple as it may seemed! Haha. We headed down to central area where we went crazy shopping! I spent about S$140 on that day...actually bought a pull over, 6 shirts, a adidas shirt, a bag, and some souvenirs. They're mostly gifts for my family and friends. I just can't imagine I'd spent so much on the 1st week...if I were to go shopping every weekend; I'll be seriously broke. In case you're wondering, IZ bought like 7 items as well. Hehz. It's madness to calculate how much we had spent in a single week over here! We did some serious reflections. Wahaha. As for now, we're gonna to be more thrifty and leave the shopping to the very last week.
P.S: The stuff here are not exactly that cheap, in fact, they can be more expensive than in Singapore. E.g. the earrings are pretty, but you can find almost the same ones in Singapore, even cheaper. But I'll still keep a look out especially for fellow earrings fanatic like PuayLin ;)

Greetings from India, once again!
It's already Friday and we're adapting well to the environment here. Today is first time we traveled from the house to the office by ourselves so it was really exciting...we took the auto rickshaw for the first time! Too bad the driver wasn't that nice and he dropped us not exactly where we wanna alight so we had to walk a little distance down to the office.
At work, we have been watching a lot of shows produced by the company and had briefings with the people who were involved in the productions. So far, we have covered a few genres such as documentaries, lifestyles/travel shows and we will be discovering more about reality shows today. The staffs here are extremely friendly and they treat well. We just met the CEO and president of the company yesterday...it's an usual sight that they're around in the office but they're probably present cos' Laura Bush, wife of George Bush came to visit the Sesame Street India productions which the company is currently managing.
Everything else is fine as well. We are careful about our food and drink consumptions. The company has provided us with tanks of mineral water at home so we've no issues with the drinking water and we usually dine at the fast food restaurants or cook at home.
By the way, we're getting the local calling cards today. Will just inform you of the numbers, just in case, once we received it.
Lastly, we're thankful to have the opportunity to be here.
P.S: For future OSIP, can consider Bombay, cos that's where the company produces more reality shows. Over here in New delhi, they focus more on documentaries etc.
